Located at 401 E. Washington Street in West Bend (across from the Courthouse), the Washington County Senior Center offers daily activities Monday through Friday. Activities offered include cards, games, exercise, crafts, classes, chorus, day trips, lunch and learn, quilting...there is something for everyone. Places to go, new friends to meet and so much more. Washington County Senior Dining meal program provides anyone 60 years or older or the spouse of anyone 60 years or older the opportunity to enjoy at least one hot nutritious meal a day. The program also recognizes the importance of continuing to have social contacts by getting together socially. There are two location for you to have lunch in West Bend. One is the Senior Center at 401 E. Washington Street and the other is Meadowbrook Manor at 475 Meadowbrook Drive. You can eat lunch at any location you choose. Bring a friend or meet a neighbor. You are asked to make a donation for the cost of your meal. You can sign up on a regular basis or sign-up on a one-meal at a time basis. Reservations must be made by 12:00 PM on the previous day at the specific site you wish to visit or by calling the Aging & Disability Resource Center at 262-335-4497. Home delivered meals can also be arranged through the Aging & Disability Resource Center.
Taxi Service is available within the City of West Bend provided by West Bend City Taxi Service. Arrangements can be made by calling 262-334-9096.
If you are looking to travel outside of the city to other locations in Washington County or northern Menomonee Falls, when the County Wide Shared-Ride Taxi Service can assist you. The Kettle Moraine YMCA is conveniently located about 2 miles from Arbor Point Community at 1111 W. Washington Street. The Active Older Adults and Half Century Programs are meant to provide activities for independent older adults (50) by staying active-physcially, mentally and socially. The YMCA offers programs and activities specifically for active older adults to participate in. A variety of healthy and fun activities which include strength training, chair exercises, water exercises and indoor walking. All Half Century Program classes are FREE for YMCA Members. The Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) is a place where information, assistance, and access to services and community resources is in one central place. Located in the Washington County Public Agency Center at 333 E. Washington Street, Room 1000, the ADRC is a great resource for seniors, family members, friends, caregivers and doctors.
